” On Saturday 1st October me and a couple of mates boarded our flight to Delhi from Singapore, ultimate destination Kathmandu and a ten day mountain biking trip through and around the Mustang Valley. The trip of a lifetime!
We were greeted at the airport by Shyam, our guide for the week, with a huge dollop of Nepali hospitality and a big grin. It became clear very quickly that nothing was going to be too much trouble for Shyam and his enthusiastic colleagues.
Bikes were quickly whipped away for a service and delivered back clean and perfect - all set for our epic rides.
Then a few exploratory rides around Kathmandu and Nagakot, to get a taste of the local Enduro scene - immediately some tough, technical rides through unique terrain completed with grins and beers despite some unsavoury and unseasonal weather.
And then, the weather deteriorated - this could have been disastrous for our trip (and indeed was for other tours) - but Shyam (I’d like to call him our Nepali Swan) - completely reworked our tour to take best advantage of the weather - the Mustang Valley was now out of the question, with roads washed away and impassable in places - travel was changed, accommodation was changed, riding routes were changed - we’re now heading to the Everest region (to ride and catch a glimpse of Everest is a bucket list item!) - all serenely and seamlessly reorganised by our guide - the riding and scenery around Phaplu where 8000m peaks abound is just stunning - the uplift adventures, up what seem impassable mountain tracks almost as exciting as the stunning, technical descents.
And the views of the famed peaks of Nuptse, Everest and Lohste - breathtaking!
I can’t thank Shyam enough for this memorable first experience of Nepal - his passion for riding in Nepal is evident and the trip was a blur of unforgettable experiences, with great company, great food, and top quality accommodation. The fact that everything changed due to the weather does not leave me disappointed but excited to get back and this time see the Mustang!
Thanks Shyam - see you next year! "

” Doing the Grand Himalayan Enduro was an amazing experience and one that I will always remember. The days were long and the trails were steep, technical, and tough but that was countered by a friendly team running the event and a fantastic international group of people to share the evening with afterward at the race resort. Being in the Himalayas was such a magical setting and the experience of riding through the villages and soaking up the local culture was surreal. I went as a solo female and at no time did I feel unsafe or like I was treated like a ‘girl’. This was my first Enduro and although it was tough, crossing the finish line was such a high. I’d go back to do it all again in a heartbeat “.

” Having competed twice in the AES Nepal event, I can attest to just how challenging and grin-inducing the trails of Nagarkot are. Practice days and race days were well organized & supported. The hosts ensure everybody has a good time providing comfortable accommodation with great food and plenty of post-ride fun. Truly, a memorable riding experience on world-class Enduro Trails. ”

“The ride was just great with breathtaking views and trails. You will also feel the way of Nepali people’s life on the trip. This will be your life time experience you never have elsewhere. Just go! You only live once”

“I stayed a couple of days extra we rode down the mountain again into Kathmandu, this was sorted by the race organizer and I heard of the other people going up to Mustang trails organized by him. Overall, you cannot complain regarding how well the organizers take care of the racers, I can imagine it’s a logistics challenge and this event was managed very professionally from my point of view.
