AES Nepal 2018 :: April 4 to 9 :: Nagarkot, KTM Valley, Nepal
Asian Enduro Series - NEPAL is back! The third edition of the race looks faster, fiercer and bigger. Gnarly invites mountain bikers all across the globe to the thrilling race along the laps of the Himalayas. It’s pedal power this time!
We will have 8 Special Stages for 2018.
The Asian Enduro Series will take place in Nagarkot which is about 35km away from the airport in Kathmandu. With the highest point at 2,100m above sea level, participants get to flow down the amazing single tracks through the forest. The final race will divided into 8 stages in 2 race days.
(Full race course details and map will be released a few days before the race in order to avoid any undue advantage to local riders.)

April 4 :: International Arrival. Race registration and briefing
Our staff will welcome you at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu upon your arrival and transfer you to the Hotel Shakti, Thamel on a private vehicle. We will then start the race registration and bibs distribution at Outdoor Education Centre, Thamel followed by refreshment. We drive to Nagarkot by 5:00PM.
You will be allotted respected rooms at Hotel Country Villa, Nagarkot. Welcome Dinner will be served to all by 7:00 PM.
April 5 :: Official Practice Day 1
After breakfast, shuttle will be waiting for you in front of the hotel. Please make sure you are at the door by 7:45AM. Today, tracks SS1-SS5. will be open. Official race tracks will be closed by 3:30PM. Please make sure that no one will be allowed to ride on the official race tracks hereafter. The shuttle service will be available throughout the training period. All participants will be given packed lunch before heading off for practice. Shuttle service available throughout the training session.

Note: We will have one emergency back up vehicle for practice rounds. No participants can use shuttle service without notification to AES representatives. We won’t have our medical team on duty on the trails during practice. So, please make sure you ride safely and not take any unnecessary risks on technical parts. Pedal power!
April 6 :: Official Practice Day 2 & Opening Ceremony
After breakfast, the shuttle will be waiting for you to drop you off for SS6-SS8. The shuttle will be available throughout the day like first day. Please make sure you have taken packed lunch before you head out.
All participants head back to the official hotel for race briefing and opening ceremony. Any participant not present during the official briefing will not be able to participate in the race. Please take this seriously. Shuttle service available throughout the training session.
NOTE: Please have your bikes checked by our official. You will need a sticker of approval in your bike at the start gate tomorrow. This will be give to you during official registration on day 1.

April 7 :: Race Day 1 SS1-SS5
Make sure you have breakfast on time. The details of the race will be available on the notice board of the hotel lobby. Make sure you have a copy of the details with you as well. Your start time will be mentioned on the sheet of paper pasted on the notice board. Not following the program might even disqualify you from the entire race. We will have 4 Special stages today. April 8 :: Race Day 2 SS6-SS8
Today is the final race day for Asian Enduro Series 2018. The details of the race will be available on the notice board like yesterday at the hotel lobby. Good luck with the race people! PEDAL POWER!

April 9 Drive to Kathmandu and International departure
AES representative will drop you off to the airport after breakfast for departure. There are optional mountain bike trips, mountain flights or event biking in the high Himalayas after the AES event. Trip extensions include: Mustang Mountain Biking (7 days), Kathmandu Valley Mountain Biking (4 days) and Poon Hill Trek (6 days).
This itinerary is subject to change depending on the number of participants and local conditions.

Cancellation by Participant
All cancellations have to be made in writing and send by email to firstname.lastname@example.org to GNARLY Pvt. Ltd. Cancellation assessments will be calculated on the day by GNARLY Pvt. Ltd. receives your notification.
90 +days prior to the event: Cancellation charge will be 25% of the total amount
60 +days prior to the event: Cancellation charge will be 50% of the total amount
30 + days prior to the event: Cancellation charge will be 100% of the total cost of the event

Gnarly Pvt. Ltd. reserves the right to cancel the event if the minimum number of participants for the Trip is not fulfilled or due to any other reason. In such case, refund of payments received by Gnarly shall be returned in full. Please note that once events are scheduled, cancellation by us are extremely rare.
No. If you wish to buy AES package, you must make all payments in full before a month of the event date to confirm. This will enable us to make the best arrangements while you are in Nepal for the race. We want to provide you with the best!
We have made the race more challenging this year by popular demand, and have not included shuttle services on race days. For practice days, there will be shuttle. All riders would have to pedal up from the end of one stage to the start of another. Participants’ private vehicles will also not be allowed. So stay fit, people! It’s all pedal power this time!
We have a special Mustang Enduro Trip designed just for you! After AES race, embark on a 7-day biking trip to the high Himalayan deserts of Mustang, Nepal. The trails are perfect for enduro riding and you will be able to experience pristine and exotic cultures of Nepal. The trip will be organized and guided by experienced crew of Gnarly. Kathmandu is a bustling city and is rich in culture and history. There are quite a few places to go sightseeing, food to taste and ancient alleys to explore. We will gladly organize a sightseeing trip for your loved ones who’re tagging along with you to Nepal. We can arrange for them to head to Nagarkot to see you race on both practice and race days (April 6 to 9) or just race days (April 8 and 9). A longer trip outside the valley can also be designed, as required.
